Vision Care

VCP addresses eye health disparities by distributing free resources and educational materials in the Tijuana Progreso, Mexicali, and San Juanico clinic communities, where vision care is in high demand. We also support local vision care services in San Diego through volunteer work.

Our Goals (2025-26)

Current Initiatives:

Vision clinics with volunteer optometrists (prescription eyeglasses distribution)
Other resource distributions:
- Reading glasses
- Sunglasses
- Lubricant eye drops
Educational pamphlets and posters (common eye problems and conditions)
Collect donated prescription glasses

New Initiatives:

Vision screenings
- Developing a volunteer protocol
Referrals
- Compiling a list of nearby vision care resources for each clinic community to refer patients to
Volunteer at local vision screening events in the San Diego area
