Weena Joshi is a pediatrician at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and Faculty at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. Weena has been with the International Health Collective since its inception and her experience and guidance has allowed IHC to become what it is today.
Faculty Advisor & Clinical Director
Jia Shen is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in the treatment and prevention of heart disease. As an assistant professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Shen’s research interests include cardiac rehabilitation, global burden of cardiovascular disease and risk factors, distribution of cardiovascular health services in low-resource settings, and biomarkers in cardiovascular disease.

Neal is a recent UCSD biochemistry graduate with aspirations of becoming a physician. He joined IHC in 2021, inspired by its mission to provide culturally aware care to underserved communities. Over the past four years, he has led multiple cross-border initiatives, including Electronic Health Records and Harm Reduction, and most recently served as Director of Local Action. Outside of IHC, Neal works as an emergency department technician. He believes everyone has a unique place within IHC and is always happy to offer individual guidance. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing jazz, and exploring the outdoors.

Shreya is a fourth-year student at UCSD majoring in human biology and hoping to pursue a career in medicine. She has been involved with IHC since her freshman year, with the Medication Education and San Juanico/Mexicali Projects. She was driven to join IHC due to her interest in their mission of creating sustainable change on both sides of the border and addressing health disparities. In her free time, she loves to read, bake, and spend time with family and friends. She has previously served as IHC’s Secretary and is excited to take on a new role as one of the Directors of Local Action this year.
Administrative Director
Robert is a third year at UCSD pursuing a B.S. in Neurobiology! He aspires to pursue a career in medicine and is interested in surgery, OB/GYN, and Pediatrics. In addition to his passion for medicine, Robert also is an enthusiast for fitness, fashion, and the application of therapeutic practices for self-healing and growth. Robert joined IHC because he deeply resonated with its mission to work not for material gain, but rather to impact those around us in a positive way. He loves how the organization and the people within it are guided by their own personal humanitarian convictions. Most recently, he served as the inaugural Recruitment Chair. He is honored to be serving as the next Administrative Director and will do all he can to support IHC’s mission through effective internal member management and leading GBMs.

Ian is a 2nd year MPH student at UCLA specializing in Epidemiology and Maternal/Child Health. He graduated from UCSD in 2024 with degrees in Neurobiology and Global Health. As a Co-Director of our Community Health Programs, Ian is passionate about facilitating initiative development and implementation in a way that maximizes our available resources, promotes cross-team collaboration, and grounds itself in the needs and lived experiences of the communities we serve. In the past three years as an IHC leader, Ian has previously served in both his current role and as Project Manager of the TJP Clinic Quality Improvement project. In his free time he enjoys archery, Magic the Gathering, and is a long time Star Wars fan!

Esther is a third-year undergraduate at UC San Diego majoring in Neurobiology with a double minor in Global Health and Spanish Literature. Since joining IHC in fall quarter of her first year, she’s been especially interested in focusing on community health as a means to empower patients and improve holistic health outcomes. As a member, she was actively involved in designing educational CPR workshops, distributing reading glasses, and organizing the Mexicali clinic’s first needs assessment, and has since been enjoying supporting others in implementing their own initiatives as one of the Directors of Community Health and the Clinic Quality Improvement Project Manager. Outside of IHC, Esther works as a Research Assistant, Orientation Leader, and CPR Instructor. She loves black coffee, running or hiking outdoors, and curling up with a good book when time permits.

Co-Director of Pharmacy
Eric is a graduate with degrees in Neurobiology/Music and Psychology minor from UCSD. In his free time, Eric loves to try out new restaurants, explore video games, and learn new instruments. As pharmacy director, Eric oversees the pharmacy in IHC’s monthly clinics in Tijuana, organizes pharmacy inventory, leads the Pharmacy Quality Improvement Project, and assists with other IHC projects, including the Scribe Program. He has been part of several IHC projects since his second year at UCSD. One of his favorite IHC memories was going on the San Juanico trip in 2023 with other IHC members. He strives to continue to serve and support the San Diego-Tijuana community alongside other members.

Raymond is a third-year Neurobiology major and Music minor at UCSD with aspirations to pursue a career in medicine. He joined IHC in 2024, and has been part of multiple project initiatives, including Pharmacy Quality Improvement, Vision Care, and Community Health Data Analysis. Raymond is excited to serve as Co-Director of Pharmacy to improve the quality and sustainability of IHC’s care to underserved communities in San Diego-Tijuana region. In his free time, he enjoys violin, chamber music, playing squash, and cooking.

Prisha is third-year at UCSD and studying Neurobiology. She joined IHC in 2025 and has enjoyed being a part of the Community Garden Project and Community Data Analysis Team. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and going to the beach! She is excited to continue being a part of IHC as Fundraising Chair and work on IHC’s mission of alleviating health disparities.

Aruna is a second year undergraduate at UCSD majoring in Public Health, and has been involved in IHC since fall of her freshman year. She is part of the Clinic Quality Improvement Project and is excited to serve as one of the Directors of Social Media and Marketing this year. She is passionate about promoting equitable access to medicine and learning about healthcare disparities, and hopes to work towards addressing these topics through her work in IHC. Outside of healthcare, she enjoys hiking, exploring cafes, and photography!

Harshitha is a third year UCSD undergraduate and medical aspirant, majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology. She joined IHC in her freshman year as a member of the San Juanico/Mexicali Clinic Project, where she was a Team Lead for the Mexicali Menstrual Drive and a Mexicali Needs Assessment contributor. Harshitha is now working on dental hygiene initiatives for the Clinic Quality Improvement Project and is a Triage Lead for the Tijuana clinic. Harshitha admires IHC’s mission of promoting medical well-being through initiatives that prioritize sustainability and cultural awareness. In her free time, Harshitha enjoys singing, exploring global music, and reading the New York Times (and getting distracted by the Wordles).
